Welcome to Project Green Leaf

Project Greenleaf is about researching and developing a strategy for implementing Green IT practices in companies. The world over concern about climate change is on the rise and recent studies have shown that IT infrastructure is contributing to the problem. This is mostly due to power consumption of IT equipment. I shall define the problem further in my following posts. For now I would appreciate visitors filling out the questionnaire which is posted on this blog. Feed back from this will help me in my research immensely. I gain nothing but data from this exercise and this is not some convoluted ad-sense scheme.

A little about me, I am an undergraduate student of the University of Westminster and am undertaking this research as part of my final year program. I chose this topic not out of a simple desire to hug tree's but because I believe that before IT can help solve climate change , IT must first ensure that it has a minimal impact on the environment. I believe that this can come about from new developments in technology as well as better IT service management and usage practices.

Thank you for your time and I appreciate your feedback
